September 14Bug Bars Big Hit - (GLEN AVON) -- The big hit at the Jurupa (hoo-roo-pah) Mountains Cultural Center are candy bars filled, not with chocolate and nuts, but with insects. That includes plump, juicy crickets, ants and mouth-watering mealworms. The bars, called "Amber InsectNside Candy," sell for three-dollars each. A center official says they are already on their second case and it's their slow season. She says adults buy them as novelties, but the kids actually eat them. |
