• 2003-01-22: We came here for my birthday and to try out an activity known in South Africa as kloofing. One of the more interesting aspects of the park was the profusion of carnivorous dew plants that we saw all along the trail to the riverbed. We arrived in the stream to begin our kloof (walking and swimming through a gorge). After a couple of hours, however, we encountered a waterfall that was a bit too high and murky to attempt a blind jump. We had to turn around at that point arriving at the car just as it was getting dark.
