Visits

  • 2013-11-07: Our last stop before heading back to our flights in Nairobi was Hell's Gate National Park. We arranged for some bicycles near the park gate, and just as soon as we got into the park, it started raining. We rode the bikes through the rain for the hike into the slot canyons. It was really impressive to watch the flood waters gathering in the gorge. Later, we found out that several Kenyan tourists had drowned in the same gorge a few years prior. Riding bikes around with the buffalo and zebras was a fitting end to our trip. We got back in the car to sort through the massive traffic jam in Nairobi before heading home.
