Road into the mountains.
Visits
- 2014-07-18: Looking for adventures in the mountains, we drove all the way to the end of the normal road. Halfway in, there was a road grader that had slid off the road into a swamp. They had to bring in a bigger tractor to pull it out. We stopped for a hike nearby, and a Red Fox carrying two lemmings popped out of the tundra and walked quite near to us as it was mobbed by a pair of Short-eared Owls. Salmon lake was astoundingly buggy (mostly non-biting insects, thankfully).
