2012-07-08: I took a one-way flight back to pick up the car. The weather was pretty brutally hot in Elgin, and the restaurant food was also pretty brutal. On Sunday, I woke up early in the morning to begin moving the car to San Francisco. I lived for 20 years in the house where I stayed, and I had never seen a nuthatch or a chickadee until this day.
