Anas georgica is found in South America, occurring in
Colombia,
Peru,
Brazil,
Bolivia,
Chile,
Argentina,
Paraguay,
Uruguay, the
Falkland Islands and South Georgia,
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The central Colombian subspecies
niceforoi is now extinct (del Hoyo
et al. 1992).
