Global Range: RESIDENT: from eastern China and Japan south to northern Indochina, southern China, Hainan, and through Ryukyu and Volcano Islands to northern Phillipines. INTRODUCED: established in Hawaii (in 1929; now throughout main islands). Small population of PALPEBROSUS complex in San Diego area, California (AOU 1983).
